Salman should do Magadheera remake: Kajal

Kajal Aggarwal believes all her Telugu films have fabulous remake value and Salman Khan is the best choice for Magadheera's Hindi remake.

Kajal Aggarwal is an addition to the growing list of actresses, who are born and brought up in Mumbai, but have made a successful career in South Indian cinema. She will be seen opposite Ajay Devgn in the upcoming action flick Singham . In an exclusive conversation with Gaurav Malani , she speaks about both, Bollywood and South cinema and how she wants all of her Telugu films to be remade in Hindi.

Wasn't (Ash-Vivek starrer) Kyun Ho Gaya Nayour debut film!
I did Kyun Ho Gaya Na when I was in the ninth grade! I was still a kid then. So I would consider Singham as my Hindi debut. At that time acting was never on my mind and education was a priority. I wanted to pursue MBA but I strongly believe in destiny, which I guess, had different plans for me.

After Telugu films, was Bollywood the next obvious step?
I never strategized my career as such. I never planned that I wanted to start in Hindi films after working in a certain number of Telugu films. I am lucky that things have been naturally falling into place so far.

Were Singham makers particularly looking for a South actress for this Tamil remake?
Not really! Rohit Shetty wanted a fresh face for the film but also with an acting background to her. They did not have time to teach anybody. When they saw my film Magadheera , which is a huge hit in South, they felt that I was perfect for the part in Singham

Considering it's a male-dominated action flick, how much scope do you have?
There is also a sweet romantic story attached to Singham . Though I have a short role in Singham , it is an important part. I do not believe that the screen-space allotted to a character would define their acting ability. And I personally believe that even if the role is short, the impact that the character makes in that time is more important.

Ajay Devgn is known to be a prank-master. Did you fall prey of his jokes?
Ajay is a wonderful actor and pulled a prank on me on the first day itself. I was asked to scream for a scene and later I realized the camera wasn't rolling at all. But I think it was a nice way to break the ice.

What is that one thing you learnt from Ajay Devgn?
The ability to get into the character once the scene rolls and cut-off from it when the director says cut. The ease with which he does that is remarkable.

Which is a better film – the Hindi or the Tamil Singham
It is unfair to say that any version is better than the other. But I do think there have been changes made in the Hindi version which would suit the Hindi audience sensibilities. While the female lead (Anushka Shetty) in the original was a Tamil character, we have changed her into a Goan Maharashtrian in Hindi.

How comfortable were you with the Hindi language?
I am born and brought up in Mumbai, so Hindi and Marathi come very easily to me.

In that case how comfortable were you with Telugu language when you started in South?
Initially I had to work very hard over the language but now, after 4 years of experience, I am quite fluent with it. I am still learning Tamil though.

Would you want any of your South films to be remade in Bollywood?
All my films have fabulous remake value but I don't have a say in this. It's more of a director's call. But if you ask me, I would want all my South films to be remade in Hindi.

If Magadheera was to be remade in Hindi, which Bollywood hero can pull off the character?
The male lead in Magadheera has a lot of heroism in terms of his attitude and body language. Many Bollywood actors have the potential to play the lead in Magadheera . Choosing one is difficult but I guess Salman would suit the role best.

Post Singham what would be your focus – Hindi or Telugu cinema?
I would want to strike a balance. While my loyalties remain in South cinema, since I started out there, I would want to work in Hindi films as well.

Owais to play MF Husain!

With his documentary Letters To My Son About My Father on his father M.F Husain in the post-production stage, Owais claims he hasn't made the documentary with the intention of fulfilling any expectations but his own.

"My father didn't approve it. He kept saying, 'What is the documentary format that you've adopted to tell my story? Who'll watch it?' Why don't you make a feature film on me?' To him a documentary was one of those Films Division things."

Now that his father is no more, adhering to his late father's wishes, Owais will make a feature film on the iconic artist and rumour is that Owais himself might play his father.

A source said, "It would only be justified if Owais plays his father in his feature film. Only he can justify the character. Being a son he knows his father and seen his life rather too closely. So there are fair chances that he will end up playing MF Husaain in his film."

Recollecting a childhood memory when he really played his father, Owais said, "There is footage of me playing my father. It happened in 1986 when my father took me to his home-town Indore to revisit his past.

He made me dress up like him in his younger days and shot me on a video in his ancestral home, the streets of Indore and his school. Of course now my father's school in Indore is no more. But the footage of me playing my father remains somewhere. I must retrieve it and take a look at it. But I do believe I'm a terrible actor."

But Husain Saab did see his son's documentary on him. Recalling the moment, Owais says softly, "My documentary on my father was invited to the Doha-Tribeca film festival last year.

On my request he flew down from London to Doha to watch the 12-minute cut that I had prepared. I think he liked what he saw."

Sohail Khan in Dabangg 2?

Buzz is that the third Khan sibling might join Salman and Arbaaz Khan in Dabangg sequel.

While Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan were seen together in Dabangg , chances are that the third Khan sibling might make his presence felt in the Dabanggsequel. While Arbaaz Khan, who produced Dabangghas already taken charge of the sequel as a director, there is buzz that the youngest Khan sibling has expressed his desire to be a part of the sequel as well.

It is a known fact that Salman Khan has been a big support to the career of both his brothers – Arbaaz and Sohail Khan. Sohail has often tagged along big brother Salman Khan in films like Veer, Heroes, Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, God Tussi Great Ho and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya . Arbaaz had done that earlier in Garv and now with Dabangg . This time seems like it will be a complete family reunion if the trio come together in Dabangg 2 . And knowing how the success ofDabangg helped Arbaaz Khan resurrect his career, Dabangg 2 might additionally help Sohail Khan as well.

While Sohail Khan had directed Salman and Arbaaz in films like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and Hello Brother early in his career, if all goes well, Arbaaz will direct Salman and Sohail (along with himself, of course) in Dabangg 2 . However before that Salman has to work on Sohail Khan's Sher Khan

Nevertheless, what the purported remake of Amar Akbar Anthony (that never took off) could not do, perhaps the sequel of Dabangg 2 would do.

KRK offers 2cr to Mallika Sherawat

A fan recently congratulated Mallika Sherawat on a networking website for the success of her item number "Jalebi Bai".

The actress was quick to respond with a " Thank you" and all would have been well if only Kamaal Rashid Khan hadn't interrupted.

The former "Bigg Boss" contestant wasted no time in offering Mallika a role in his upcoming film. His offer was that if she agreed, she would be paid `2 crore and that if the film failed to become a super hit, he would in turn pay her `5 crore as compensation. The actress hasn't bothered to reply to the (tempting) offer yet, but her fans were quick to repudiate Khan and his claims.

Kamaal also went as far as saying that he needed an actor who could play a good boyfriend on screen and an actress who had three boyfriends. He then suggest that John Abraham and Mallika Sherawat would be perfect for the role of the on-screen couple that he wants.
Mallika's fans have been calling KRK names like Badnaami Ka Daag and Film Drohi online. But through all this, wonder what Mallika Sherawat is thinking!

'Bipasha Basu's dating Shahid Kapoor'

Bipasha Basu is glowing these days. Her good friends have been talking about the new mystery man in her life for weeks now, but the dusky actress has so far only admitted to dating "someone new", refusing to reveal his identity. The secret is out now. TOI has learnt that the screen siren has been dating Shahid Kapoor

Says a source, "For over a month now, Bipasha has been talking about a very sweet guy in her life. She's been telling friends that he's an eligible young man and has been showering her with gifts and some much-needed attention. She's been gushing to her friends about how "sweet and affectionate" he is. Bips maintains that while they are not serious yet, he's been wooing her persistently and she's basking in the warmth of his adoration."

Considering they've never worked together, everyone's wondering how the two met. Apparently they were introduced by Shahid's trainer, Abbas. Shahid is as much of a fitness junkie as Bipasha — that was a common bonding subject the first time they met. "Obviously they are only just getting to know each other, so Bips doesn't want to jinx it by talking openly about Shahid," says the source.

Both Bipasha and Shahid have recently split from their long-time partners ( John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra, respectively) and don't want their budding romance to come under the spotlight. A couple of weeks ago, however, Shahid was spotted with hickeys on his neck during a shoot and people on the unit pulled his leg about it. He refused to comment on the mystery lady who 'marked' him, but was later spotted out and about with Bips. Adds the source, "On Saturday night, Shahid hosted a small party at his newly-renovated Andheri home. There were about 20 guests, and Bipasha was also present. Shahid had invited only a handful of his close friends, including Siddharth Anand, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and husband Farhan Azmi, Ahmed Khan, so her presence there raised quite a few eyebrows."

When asked, Bipasha claims she hardly knows Shahid. His spokesperson on the other hand says, "They are friends, just as he is friends with other people in the industry. The news of them dating is untrue." Ho hum!

Rani Mukerji is unwell

For those wondering about Rani Mukerji and her disappearance from the social scene, here's the goss.
Apparently, the actress has been laid low by a severe bout of flu and was in bed for quite some time. We wish the pretty Rani a speedy recovery. In related news, the actress plans to turn director soon, too!

Rohit Shetty- Ajay Devgn: The dream team

Ajay Devgn starrer Singham has been making news from the day its first promo released. And the buzz has remained steady for this Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty production.

In Bollywood, numbers speak louder than actions. As a team, Rohit and Ajay have a record of four super hits out of their six films together. Golmaal 3, their last box office outing, is on Bollywood's list of the highest grossers of all time.

After giving the janta a good dose of laughter, this actor-director combination has shifted gears. Singham is an action thriller. The trade says that this high octane cop drama is being eagerly awaited after Salman Khan's Dabangg, another cop drama that rewrote box office history.

Singham has all the staple ingredients of a masala movie. Says trade analyst Komal Nahata, "From the look of it, there's going to be an earthquake at the box office when Singham strikes on July 22."

Bollywood's Hero No 1 Salman Khan feels that the film will work because it has the right quotient of raw action, emotions and good music. "This combo is normally irresistible," says Salman, who actually released the first look of the film with his blockbuster Ready.

Even as others around him are going ga-ga over the prospects of this cop caper, Ajay says, "I've waited really long for a film like Singham to come my way. The release is just 11 days away... and I can feel the excitement build up. I'm happy to share the film with my audience. I promise they won't be disappointed."
Rohit, whose personal equity as a filmmaker is currently on par with the best in Bollywood, is happy with the way the wind is blowing, "I have lost count of the number of congratulatory messages I received for the trailer. With this film, I have rediscovered action, a genre Ajay and I had moved away from because of our last four films."

Bipasha, Madhavan in romantic flick

Ashwini Chaudhary's romantic flick goes on floors tomorrow in Mumbai

After Tanu Weds Manu, R Madhavan is looking forward to start his yet another romantic film. The actor has been holidaying in San Francisco and is all kicked about starting Ashwini Chaudhary's forthcoming flick that goes on floors tomorrow.

This untitled film will have Bipasha Basu opposite Madhavan. Joining the two will be the hilarious Omi Vaidya, who shared screen space with Madhavan in 3 Idiots. Director Chaudhary, who is also working on the sequel to Ghayal, wants to first start this film.

Madhavan is done with his South projects and has all the time to concentrate on his Hindi film. He hasn't worked with Bipasha before, so it will be quite interesting to see this new onscreen couple.

Shahid's open invitation to fans!

If you thought the ongoing roadtrip of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara cast is an unconventional tool of promotion, read further.

Shahid Kapoor will launch the promo of his forthcoming film Mausam not just for the media as happens always but also for his fans!

We have gathered information on how Shahid andSonam Kapoor have actually invited their fans to come and attend the promo launch of Mausam on Monday evening at a suburban Mumbai multiplex!

Shahid Kapoor's publicist confirmed the news. "Shahid has a huge & loyal fan following. They love him and were hellbent on seeing the promo of Mausam for a long time. They kept posting on the micro-blogging account of Shahid their ardent desire to see the promo at the earliest. The idea of inviting the fans for a promo screening originated from here.

Mausam's team sat together and thought if this could be worked out. Shahid loved the idea of interacting with his fans in person and letting them be a part of his promo-launch too. He gave a go-ahead and the plan of having the fans over for the screening of the promo post the press conference was finalized. Sonam's fans too showed great interest post the news got circulated on web as Mausam even trended on Twitter (in Mumbai & India) yesterday" stated the publicist.

Speaking about the number of fans expected, the publicist added, "It will all depend on how many of his online fans are actually based in Mumbai. Heavy rains in the city could be another hindrance but we are expecting a fairly large crowd for whom arrangements are being made. An entire screen will be booked for the fans and depending on the numbers we can split the screenings in rounds. A press conference will be held at the same venue after which the stars will head to meet their fans at the screening."

Now Shahid fulfilling his fans' wishes by actually meeting them and sharing his special day with them is really cute. Hope other actors follow suit and converse with their fans in person other than merely doing it in the virtual world.

Next change: Delhi Underbelly

Choreographer-turned- moviemaker Kaushik Ghosh is all set to rip apart what he says is a burgeoning trend in the fashion world: exploitation of budding male models on the pretext of providing an instant push to career.

Ghosh is scripting a film which he says will highlight the prevalent trend.

Sources say the plot kicks off from a fashion week in Delhi where a model meets a top designer in the afterparty. "It's a story based on real life instances. It will highlight the vulnerability of the male models," says Ghosh. The film is tentatively titled, "Confessions Of A Model". Ghosh claims that his 'fearless' project will make many established people run for cover. Sources say there will also be an hour long documentary, which will be released post the film. "This film will have a bit of everything that I have gathered in the 16 years of my association with the fashion world," says Ghosh.

Since Delhi sees many fashion shows and it's a hub for designers, Ghosh will use Delhi as a backdrop. "The plot takes a turn when a frustrated model tries to commit suicide. And that's when someone shows him the way to make quick money. The action then shifts to high society where ladies hire young guys as gigolos," says Ghosh.

To play the female lead, Ghosh has zeroed in on Bipasha Basu and Kangna Ranaut, but he maintains that male lead in the movie will be a new guy. Sources say the movie charts the path of a male model and how he is forced to turn into a pimp.

Gauri Khan turns designer

After producing a host of films under her superstar husband Shah Rukh Khan's banner, Gauri Khan has now decided to turn her hand to design.

Specifically interior design, with good friend and interior designer Sussanne Roshan. Roshan has been an interior designer for many years now, having designed a host of celebrity homes for the likes of Rani Mukherjee, Shilpa Shetty, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. Recently she even opened her store in the suburbs. Now, the two star wives have decided to join hands and design exclusive interiors projects together.

Says a source close to the two, "Gauri won't join Sussanne as a partner in her store. Instead, they will work on certain interiors projects that they get as a team, mainly on larger projects. Sussanne
will continue to do individual projects in the meantime."

Sanjay Dutt in Ra.One

Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra have come together for action-packed cameos in Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One, directed by Anubhav Sinha.

SRK also features in the scene with them. Dutt and PC are currently working together in Agneepath and were last seen in Plan in 2004.

Says a source close to Shah Rukh, "Sanju appreared in a song in Om Shanti Om but has never worked with SRK. Khan felt Ra.One needed some more drama with fun and action elements. Recently, Anubhav and he were discussing how Sanju had buffed up his body for Agneepath and were very impressed by his dedication to the role. The Ra.One team felt Sanju was looking outstanding and so decided to get him on board." Shah Rukh asked Dutt, followed by Priyanka, to do a cameo in the film. "

PC won't have any romantic scenes with Shah Rukh. Instead, all three of them will come together in one very stylised action sequence. When they approached Sanju, his dates were blocked with Karan Johar for Agneepath. Karan graciously gave a few of Dutt's dates for Ra.One, and both he and SRK requested Dutt to do the cameo. Of course, he immediately agreed." The source adds that SRK has always looked up to Dutt as an older brother and has great affection for him. "Initially the two of them were to shoot for just a day, but now they have extended it by a couple of days as SRK and Anubhav want Sanju to do some great action scenes. Sanju is very excited about doing such hard-hitting action again and has been giving his inputs to the scenes."

I would love to act with dad: Shahid Kapoor

Acting in his father Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut Mausam has been a dream for Shahid Kapoor. It was while working with his pa that the actor realised how well he understood each character and scene.

While Shahid himself is no slouch in the acting department, he has, much like his father, excelled in complicated roles. But it came as a surprise when the star actor demanded more from his son, egging him on for more takes. In fact, Kapur has based Shahid's character on his younger self while living in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Talking about the experience, Shahid says, "Dad has a way of acting and showing how he wants a scene done. Initially, I found it very intimidating. The first few days were very tough for me. It was also hard to replicate what he was showing me. I was extremely nervous and awkward. But somewhere we found a comfort level and I can say that the making of this film helped us develop a whole new relationship."

Was he treated differently because he was the director's son? "Well, yes. I have worked with loads of directors but have never been given a hint that I gave a crappy shot! Often dad would make me do several retakes and do the scene exactly how he wanted it. So, I had to work that much harder."

What's the one thing he would say is the highlight of working with his dad? "This experience just made me realise that I would love to act in a film with him."

RGV firm to cast Maria Susairaj

Ram Gopal Varma managed to stir up a new controversy by announcing that he intended to cast the recently-released Maria Susairaj, in a film. Soon after, members of the youth wing of a political party even staged a protest outside his office.

People feel that RGV's remarks about casting Maria are in bad taste, but an unperturbed Ramu says, "I've always made films out of headlines." RGV also refutes the political party's accusation that he is supporting Maria."I'm standing by the Indian judiciary that found her not guilty. Who are we to call her a murderer?" he asks.

Meanwhile, RGV has requested police protection for himself. "I asked for security cover after the reaction from the party. I am not shaken. I've seen many incidents like this before," he says. But has he approached Maria for a project? "No, I haven't approached her as yet."

Saif, Kareena are happy together: Soha

Her brother Saif Ali Khan may be striking a fine balance between commercial potboilers and offbeat subjects, but Soha Ali Khan prefers to stick to the road less traveled. Her films, including Mumbai Meri Jaan, Dil Kabaddi and Khoya Khoya Chand, bear testimony to that.

While these films may not have set the box office on fire, they did fetch her rave reviews. So is she happy with the way her career has shaped up? "I don't know if anyone is ever happy with his/her career. If you are ambitious, then nothing is ever good enough. I'm happy in a way, but there is lots more to achieve, and I am hungry for more," says Soha.

The actor, who was in the city over the weekend, is currently busy with three projects — Soundtrack, Chemistry and Deepa Mehta's Winds of Change, the film adaptation of Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. "In Soundtrack, I play a woman who is hearing impaired. My teachers from the Helen Keller Institute made sure that I got the sign and body language of a hearing impaired person right. It took time, but we finally did it," says the actor, adding that the best way to describe her character in Chemistry would be as a blend of Dev Anandand Charlie Chaplin. "Initially, I was little confused by that. I play a tomboy whose ego has taken a beating after being dumped by her boyfriend. She is full of herself, is mad, has red hair, and wears bizarre clothes. She is not worried about anything," says Soha, who remains tightlipped about her role in Winds of Change.

Will she venture into south Indian films? "I have done Bengali cinema, but I don't know about the south. Some of the best directors in the country are from the south. If I am to work here, the director has to be good, someone from whom I can learn a lot. But for me to do a film, it's important that I know the language," she says.

So, while the south may not be an option for Soha, another stint on television is. "I did a game show earlier and found working for television great fun. But I should get the right show. I want to work with someone like Siddharth Basu from whom I learnt a lot during my last outing," says the actor.

Will Soha, her brother Saif and his girlfriend Kareena ever come together for a film in future? "No! I can't even imagine what that film would be like," she says and adds, "I am glad that Saif and Kareena are in love and happy together. But when they choose to get married, is up to them. Their marriage is not going to affect my career in any way."

And what about her marriage plans? "I have no marriage plans yet. In fact, I don't have any plans for life," says Soha.

Kareena in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai sequel

Apparently, Kareena Kapoor has been signed on for the Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai sequel, opposite Akshay Kumar.

While there was speculation about everyone from Katrina Kaif to Priyanka Chopra being approached for the role of the gangster's glamorous moll, it's Bebo who has walked away with the honours!

How can Maria Susairaj get publicity?

Neeraj Grover's friends have refused to take the judgement, which allowed Maria Susairaj to walk out of the prison on Saturday, lying down. In an exclusive interview, Shruti Gupta, one of Neeraj's friends, talks about his shocking death, his relationship with Maria, and how his friends plan to get the case re-opened.

Neeraj as a friend
Neeraj and I studied in the same school called Amity School of Communications. He was senior to me. We only got to know each other well during an internship at the AIR. He was a very friendly person and was very attached to everyone. He was also very social and had lot of fans and followers. Even after shifting to Mumbai, he made sure he kept in touch with all his close friends.

On the news of his death
It was devastating and shocking when all his friends heard the news of his death. At first I thought it was a joke but later I checked with other friends, and we were in a state of shock. More than his death, the fact that his body was chopped into pieces was shocking. What I know about Neeraj is that he was never the kind of a person who would harm anyone. How can someone kill him in such a brutal manner?

No affair with Maria
Neeraj was a friendly person, but I don't think that he had any affair with Maria. In fact, all his friends knew about his friendship with Maria. He was so friendly that even on the day when he was murdered brutally, he went to Maria's friend's place on her invitation and didn't realize that it would be his last day. He had told us that he had met Maria, who was a south Indian actress, and was trying her luck to get an entry in Bollywood and Hindi serials. Neeraj was trying to cast her for a mythological serial. Maria's Hindi was not that good and Neeraj guided and helped her a lot as a friend. Slowly they got more friendly. That's it. Neeraj was a very happy-go-lucky person. He loved watching movies and hanging out with his friends. No one could have ever imagined such a sad ending.

We want Justice
Our only aim of organizing a candlelight march is to spread the message that we want justice, and Maria should be behind bars as she is wholly responsible for the murder and doesn't deserve to walk freely. It is very upsetting when film directors are approaching her for movies and she is getting offers for reality shows. How can a criminal get so much publicity, and why should she earn money after killing someone? It is not at all fair. We want the judgement to be fair and we are taking the petition to the government of India and appealing that the case be re-opened.

Blindfold march on july 16
The message has been spread across India. It is overwhelming to see the support we have received from everyone. We are planning a blindfold march on July 16 in Mumbai, which will start from Marine Lines and end at the Gateway of India. This march will include a lot of prominent celebrities from the media. We hope to get support from other people too. Neeraj's close friends Mona and Hitank have taken the initiative to organize this march in Mumbai . We hope a few people and close friends from Delhi also turn up.

Kunal Kapoor's busy with Don

Kunal Kapoor has been busy shooting for the sequel of Don directed by Farhan Akhtar

The actor is kicked about being a part of the sequel and is excited to work with the whole unit including SRK. Kunal says, "I think Shah Rukh's character G One is actually semi autobiographical. While we need sleep and food, he is actually a robot and all he has to do is plug himself in or change his batteries and he is good to go again!!" Insiders have said that the Rang De Basanti actor is playing an important role in the movie.

Why Salman wasn't invited to Aamir's bash?

Actors Salman Khan and Aamir Khan seem to share a special dosti. So it wouldn't be strange to expect the macho Khan to make an appearance at the success bash of 'Delhi Belly' thrown by Aamir Khan.

It was a small, sweet gathering that had most of the film's cast there; and Aamir's friend Anil Kapoor graced the occasion to wish Aamir. However, quiz AK on Sallu's absence, and he was quick to say, "It's just a very small affair. Salman won't come to 'Delhi Belly' party, he's probably bust with 'Chillar Party'," joked Aamir.

On a more serious note, Aamir was happy with the response Delhi Belly had garnered. Ask him about Salman's 'Chillar Party', and he says, "I've been busy with our home production. But I hear it's a well-made movie. I would love to watch it."

Priyanka Chopra flaunts her ring

If you got it, flaunt it seems to be the mantra. AndPriyanka Chopra was spotted showing off one giant rock at a recent musical event in Los Angeles.

PC is in the States with her mom for a Bollywood event. We couldn't help but notice the stone on her finger at the do. Contrary to speculation, boyfriend Shahid didn't gift it, it was last year's birthday gift from her parents. Maybe this is her way of hinting that Sasha get her a bigger one?

Salman Khan goes international

After launching his charitable organisation in the country, Salman Khan now plans to branch out to the Middle East and other regions.

The actor's organisation is on its way to making its presence felt in Dubai. Buzz is that the actor will personally look into the working of this new endeavour and has already asked his staff to start hunting for people to run it.

No takers for Maria Susairaj!

Ram Gopal Varma got his two seconds of fame by suggesting that he may cast Kannada actressMaria Susairaj, who was recently released in the Neeraj Grover murder case.

RGV backtracked when he got a warning from political parties to stay away from her. Back in her home state Karnataka, there are no takers for this 31-year-old. It was being suggested that filmmaker Dinesh Babu was making a film inspired by Maria. However, Dinesh clarifies, "What I said was that as a director I am not bothered about the background of an actor. If my subject demands a particular actor, I will definitely choose him or her. At the moment, I'm not making any film on Maria's life or with her."

Filmmaker Kavita Lankesh says, "Grisly murder stories won't be accepted in Sandalwood. In Bollywood, though, it's a different story." She adds, "I haven't seen any of Maria's films, so how will I cast her?"
