It was time for mutual admiration between the women at the launch of their new show
Kya Hua Tera Vaada is important for two women, for two reasons: Mona Singh returns to fiction shows after more than six years, and Ekta Kapoor returns to her fave letter K after Bade Achche Lagte Hain. And the two were upbeat and happy about each other’s role in the show to the extent that Pawan Shankar and Delnaz Paul were forgotten for some time. Mona was enthusiastic that Ekta looked into every aspect of the show – from the casting to the dialogues and the setting of the scene. “The forces that made me accept the show were the concept, the character and Ekta,” said Mona. Ekta, for her part, was equally happy about casting Mona. “I chased her for four months. Mona has a naturalness with her co-actor (to make it believable that her character has been married for ten years), she has the ability to make moments dramatic without making them filmi,”said Ekta.
All this female bonding, hugs and huge smiles may look good for the cameras, but it did make us wonder if either of them has already begun to regret their decision about being a part of the show and asking each other, “Kya hua tera vaada?” (Why did you break your promise?)
