Choreographer-turned- moviemaker Kaushik Ghosh is all set to rip apart what he says is a burgeoning trend in the fashion world: exploitation of budding male models on the pretext of providing an instant push to career.
Ghosh is scripting a film which he says will highlight the prevalent trend.
Sources say the plot kicks off from a fashion week in Delhi where a model meets a top designer in the afterparty. "It's a story based on real life instances. It will highlight the vulnerability of the male models," says Ghosh. The film is tentatively titled, "Confessions Of A Model". Ghosh claims that his 'fearless' project will make many established people run for cover. Sources say there will also be an hour long documentary, which will be released post the film. "This film will have a bit of everything that I have gathered in the 16 years of my association with the fashion world," says Ghosh.
Since Delhi sees many fashion shows and it's a hub for designers, Ghosh will use Delhi as a backdrop. "The plot takes a turn when a frustrated model tries to commit suicide. And that's when someone shows him the way to make quick money. The action then shifts to high society where ladies hire young guys as gigolos," says Ghosh.
To play the female lead, Ghosh has zeroed in on Bipasha Basu and Kangna Ranaut, but he maintains that male lead in the movie will be a new guy. Sources say the movie charts the path of a male model and how he is forced to turn into a pimp.
