Ajay Devgn and " Singham" director Rohit Shetty came to Delhi as part of a promotional visit recently, when they also visited the Radio Mirchi studios here.
Part of their itinerary in the city was a press conference, where Ajay's silent and brooding cine image was dispelled by his witty side.
From his return to an action film after eight years to doing comedy movies more often, his 20-year-long friendship with Shetty as well as wife Kajol's reaction to the movie, Ajay answered all questions with equal ease. But press conferences have a way of throwing up the most interesting statements from actors and in this case, the topic in conversation happened to be the Prime Minister, DrManmohan Singh.
A spoof video on the "Singham" trailer has been uploaded online, where Ajay's face has been replaced with that of the PM, while the body remains the actor's, and he is shown to be fighting corruption. When Ajay was asked about this, he joked, "It's very funny. Agar Manmohan Singhji bhi body bana lein toh maza aa jayega."
Then there was a question about Ajay removing his shirt for the first time on screen, and also Salman Khan's compliments on his physique, to which the actor said, "No no, isse pehle maine "Omkara" mein bhi shirt utari thi.
Also, I think Salman has the best body in the industry, so if he says something like this, it is a big compliment." But Rohit wasn't as comfortable talking about his physique, and when he was asked about his "dole-shole" and well-maintained "figure", he said, "Yaar, ladkon ki figure nahin hoti. And this is not for any role. I have always been like this. Bas ab thoda TV pe dikhne laga hoon."
