Mausam screening for IAF officials

Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut "Mausam" may have been hit by turbulence on a lot of fronts, but the movie's team is working hard to ensure its timely release on September 16.

However, in the process of seeking approval from the Indian Air Force over a particular sequence, and the delay involved in that, the movie had to be withdrawn from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) line-up. On Tuesday, after the movie was pulled out, TIFFco-director Cameron Bailey tweeted, "So sad:MAUSAM won't make it to #TIFF11. Producers & Eros Entertainment apologize: Indian officials didn't approve film in time", adding, "MAUSAM ticket holders will get a full refund from #TIFF. The filmmakers in India apologize for cancellation."

But to ensure that the movie doesn't face any hiccups in India at the time of its release this week, the producer, along with director Pankaj Kapur and lead actor Shahid Kapoor, will be showing the movie to officials from the Indian Air Force soon. They were originally expected to show the movie to the officials on Wednesday, but Sheetal clarified that the screening had been deferred by a day. However, the movie has been given a censor certificate by the CBFC.
