As Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi made his final journey from his home in Pataudi, close friends and acquaintances poured in to pay their last respects to the legendary cricketer and offer their condolences to the family - wife Sharmila, daughters Saba and Soha, and son Saif, accompanied by girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.
Pataudi passed away in Delhi's Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday, surrounded by his family, after battling a lung infection. His body was first brought to his home in Delhi's Vasant Vihar early Friday morning, and after that, to his ancestral home in Pataudi, two hours from Delhi.
The first to arrive there was Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, followed by a stream of dignitaries - Pakistan high commissioner Shahid Malik, Digvijay Singh, Rajiv Shukla, Arun Jaitley, Ajay Jadeja, Kapil Dev, and many more. People in Pataudi and surrounding areas flocked to Pataudi House, just as they had done many times in the past, for their Nawab. At one point, the police had to resort to lathicharge to control the crowds. Shabana and Javed Akhtar had arrived later in the afternoon, while buzz was that others from showbiz were also expected.

Ever since Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was admitted to Ganga Ram hospital, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor visited Delhi several times to be by the ailing Pataudi's side.
Saif's first visit was more than a fortnight ago, and the next time he returned, Kareena accompanied him. The family's concern about Tiger's condition was obvious from the number of visits his children made to the capital. While Saif is known to have come over five times in the past couple of weeks, Kareena accompanied him again this Monday. They've been here since then and have stayed at the Pataudi home in South Delhi. Soha too has been in the city for over a week now.
