Kay Kay Menon says he wanted to be an actor since nine, as he opens up about his struggling days
This is the first time that Kay Kay Menon has been to Indore and he says he loves it here. "The response has definitely been overwhelming," he says. Menon admits that he always wanted to be an actor. "I wanted to be an actor since I was just nine-years-old. I was constantly on stage in school, and even while I was pursuing my MBA,
I knew that I wanted to eventually become an actor," says the star. But there were several obstacles on the way. Obstacles that he doesn't like to think about. "Calling them 'difficulties' is a negative way of looking at it. I would rather call it a phase, phases like these come in the life of every film star." He says he takes up roles that excite him. "It's instinctive and organic. You get an instant feel - that there is something in this script," he adds. How was it working with actors like Atul Kulkarni, Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Kishan in his new film? "It has been the perfect experience. The best part is that the flick does not have a female lead. This showed our bonding as actors."
Menon met his wife, Nivedita Bhattacharya, when he was involved with theatre productions and the actor says that she helped him in his struggle to become a film star and continues to do so. "We both understand the professional commitments that we have, and therefore it is nice to have her by my side," he signs off.
