Oprah Winfrey bash busted thrice by cops

Monday night's party for Oprah Winfrey, thrown by Paremshwar Godrej at her swish beach-hugging bungalow in Mumbai was busted thrice by cops; the first time within fifteen minutes of Oprah's arrival. The Godrejs even paid a fine of ` 5000 at each raid.
The complaints to Juhu police started coming in soon after the music began a little before 10 pm. Amrish Patel, Godrej's neighbour and an MLA, was the first to call the cops. "Still, the music didn't stop. I couldn't sleep till 1.30 am," he said. The first disruption came soon after Oprah arrived at the party. A performance by Shiamak Davar and his troupe planned on the beach was turned into a more muted show after the cops ushered the revellers indoors.
While the reduced energy levels of the opening act may have dampened spirits (Davar left within minutes of his seven-minute piece), but decibel levels were soon tweaked back to pre-interruption levels, and Juhu Police Station received another complaint at 11pm. A second raid followed half-an-hour later and while things went quiet for a while, celebrations were back in full swing soon after they left, only to be disrupted a third and final time at 1.30am.
While Parmeshwar Godrej was unavailable for comment, Arun Bhagat, senior PI from Juhu Police Station, confirmed, "Residents near Godrej's bungalow had called us at night saying that they were playing loud music. We sent a team to tackle this at 10.30pm." The cops confessed they had no idea why the celebrations persisted despite the disruptions. They also said they did not know who Oprah Winfrey is.
