A starry launch for Auto Expo 2012

It was a starry launch for Auto Expo 2012 in the capital as a barrage of Bollywood names zoomed into Pragati Maidan for the mega auto fair.
On Thursday, the razzle dazzle began before noon and continued well past 10 at night, with Bollywood stars dropping in at regular intervals at the various stalls - either in their capacity as brand ambassadors or to endorse the launch of specific makes of vehicles.
Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham were among the early ones to arrive at Pragati Maidan. While Ranbir's appearance was being referred to as a 'quickie' all day long, John spent a bit of time at the stall of the company he endorses, where, as usual, he spoke about his "passion for bikes". Farhan Akhtar, Chetan Bhagat, Masaba Gupta andIrfan Pathan turned up for the Mercedes-Benz launch, while Amitabh Bachchan took out time to launch a supercar.
But besides the beauties on wheels, a couple of Bollywood beauties too came around, includingKatrina Kaif and Lisa Ray, whose presence lead to a large crowd gathering outside the stall they were at. At the stall, Katrina said, "A car becomes an extension of your personality." She added, "Shall we go for a drive, Lisa?" as they waved to the crowd.
There were quite a few other car enthusiasts who dropped in at the expo. We spotted Karun Chandok, who said he was in the country, but wanted to check out this expo, as well as director Roshan Abbas.
