Bollywood actor Madhavan is going to play the mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan in a Hollywood film titled ‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’. The movie is based on the book of the same name by Robert Kanigel. Matt Brown is directing the movie. Significantly, Colin Firth of the ‘The King`s Speech’ fame, is being approached to play the other vital role of English mathematician GH Hardy. Maddy is quite excited about playing Ramanujan. So, he also visited Kumbakonam as Ramanujan hails from there. Incidentally, India is celebrating the centenary of mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan, and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has declared 2012 as the year of maths.
