Sonakshi’s too busy for Salman?

Recently when actor Salman Khan’s coterie of friends turned up to show their support for brother, filmmaker Sohail Khan’s cricket tournament in Sharjah, many were surprised to see actress Sonakshi Sinha missing from all the action there.

The actress, who in the first season was seen cheering for every match alongside Salman, was conspicuous by her absence this time around. The move set tongues wagging about this sudden change.

While some said that it was after Salman’s friends apparently sent out signals that they did not appreciate the actress hanging out with Salman at all events and using his proximity to her advantage, that she decided to maintain her distance, others insisted that Sonakshi was genuinely busy with her films in hand.

Till she had not signed any film post Dabangg, she would not leave his side at any event. But ever since she bagged a couple of films, she suddenly has no time to turn up for such important events, was also the buzz among insiders. And though this change in Sonakshi’s attitude towards Salman has apparently not gone down too well with the rest of his friends, insiders insist that Salman himself is not upset.

“Salman is, in fact, happy that she is out on her own and busy with work, instead of hanging around with his coterie all the time,” says an insider.

“Besides, if Salman can push the careers of other girls by choosing them over Sonakshi, why should she let her work suffer for him?” feel others.

According to sources close to Sonakshi, however, all’s well between the two and keeping her away were her work commitments alone.

“Sonakshi holds Salman in high regards. After all, it’s he who’s made her a star overnight. But the fact is that she was shooting for Lootera and despite trying, could not manage to wriggle out dates to make it to Dubai over the last weekend,” says the source.

“Lootera’s shooting had already been disrupted once, so they did not want to change any more dates. Besides, she has been shooting back to back for SOS and Rowdy Rathore and one change in date would mean changing dates for the rest too. She is too much of a professional to do that and she’s sure Salman understands that,” adds the source.
