This petite woman at the India Mens Week's last day shows looked alluring, pretty, but not everyone quite recognised her. That impeccable dress, those accessories, and the perfect make-up, down to the nail polish on the toes, indicated she was a celeb, but who? Whispers done with, someone said she's Imran Khan's wife. "Unke saath aayi hain. Avantika hain."
But Avantika herself was blissfully unaware of all this and her surroundings, and sat on the front row for Karan Johar and Varun Bahl's show, chatting happily with the few who'd come with Karan, Katrina and Imran's entourage. But that was till Imran returned after walking the ramp. She was already backstage, waiting. "You looked so good. You did great," she told him, as she gave him a hug. "He looked very hot, na? Superb. I loved Imran on the ramp," she told us and turned back to talk to Imran and Katrina. "You were patakha," she told Imran and turned to Kat, saying the same thing. And once this was done with, and she 'happy smile'-posed with her hubby, she took out a few minutes to speak to us.
So what's her dress sense like? "Whatever is comfortable," she finished the sentence. "I know it is a very cliched answer, but it is very hard for someone of my body type to find the right kind of clothes. I am so tiny... so curvy, and I hardly find ready-to-wear that fits right. But I like to have fun with what I wear. I never go overboard - even for my wedding, I did not go for bling, that's not me." Talking of wedding, how's marriage treating her? "It's fun, I'm having a blast," said Avantika. Any new discoveries about hubby? "There's nothing really new to discover, I've known him for too long a time for that, but marriage is a different level of things, and like I said, I am liking it. Having a blast," she laughed. By this time, Imran joined us. How was it walking the ramp? He looked up, rolled his eyes, wriggled his eyebrows... "You looked really good," someone complimented him. "Well, it was good. See, everyone's telling me I looked good, that I did it well," said Imran. Has he done this before? "Two years ago, once." He looked quite confident on the ramp, but how was the feeling inside? "Nervous." Why? "Because it is not my area, not what I usually do. It is very different from acting," he managed to say, before the couple were once again mobbed by people who wanted to get clicked with them.
