KANPUR: Traffic came to a virtual halt atMotijheel crossing here on Friday afternoon whenBollywood actors Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra, along with director Farhan Akhtar, arrived at a city hotel on a film promotional tour.
A heavy police 'bandobast' had been made by the district administration to keep the surging crowd at bay. Young girls and boys and even children ran behind the stars to have a glimpse.
Shahrukh and Priyanka both waved at the crowd and the actress even surprised the press photographers when she posed for photographs with a traffic cop outside the Chakeri airport.
There were moments when the policemen pushed the crowd away as it was trying to get too close to their favourite stars.
After a press meet at the hotel, Shahrukh left with Priyanka and other cast and crew.
Meanwhile, passengers who were waiting for the Delhi-Kanpur flight to arrive at Chakeri airport, were electrified to see the King Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan. The trio had got down at Chakeri airport from a chartered plane. The moment Shahrukh Khan waved to the crowd, it waved back at him.
The officials and the staff of Chakeri airport too did not miss any opportunity to see Shahrukh and heartthrob Priyanka along with Farhan from close quarters. It was only when the three drove away in a Mercedes car, the crowd could pull their eyes off them.
