Devgn is clear that he no longer wants any of his films to clash with another, especially one that involves his friends.
His upcoming film, Tezz, also starring Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Boman Irani and Sameera Reddy, was all set to release on November 11, but when Ajay discovered that Ranbir Kapoor's much-awaited Rockstar is also slated to release on the same date, he decided to intervene.
Sources say that he called up producer Ratan Jain and asked him to shift the release date of Tezz. "Imtiaz Ali's film had booked the date before Tezz, so Ajay thought it was prudent to move Tezz rather than ask the other film to move. Ajay shares a good rapport with Ranbir since Raajneeti and did not want a clash with him," says the source. "Also, Ajay is close to Ashtavinayak, who are has produced Rockstar. The Golmaal series, which has added to Ajay's stardom, has been produced by Ashtavinayak," adds the source.
Ratan Jain remained unavailable for comment.
