Southern import Asin might have given two block-busters in Bollywood with A-listers like Aamir and Salman, and several hits down South, but looks like producer Mukesh Bhatt remains unimpressed whose blunt remark few days back - "I don't feel that she has a great future in Bollywood..just being a beautiful actress in a film with superstars is not enough.
If you want to leave your footprints before you are dead and gone, you must do some films for your obituary also.." didn't go down well among the film fraternity. However, Asin chose to remain silent and her business manager merely said, "Asin is not into PR (public relations). She has nothing to say, she just laughed it out."
Sounding a bit furious, Anees Bazmee, the director of Ready, Asin's last hit, came to her defense and said, "Some one who doesn't know about his own future shouldn't be commenting on others. You may have your opinion but you don't say such things, and then you can't predict anything in the film world. You are not God. Asin has all the qualities that a heroine should have, she is a professional and not a one film wonder."
Asin's co-star from Vipul Shah's London Dreams, Aditya Roy Kapoor wondered where was the need to make this comment about an actor with "great acting capabilities". "Asin has not got there where she is without any talent. She is doing amazingly well. She is in the right place. All of us had a great time shooting with her," said Aditya.
Well, Mr Bhatt, hope you will be careful in the future. Your colleagues are wondering whether the success of Murder 2 has gone to your head, and that you have also decided to have an opinion on everyone and everything like your brother Mahesh Bhatt. Rumour mills also say that the Bhatt made this remark because Asin recently refused a low budget film offered to her by the Bhatt camp.
